Athirapally Waterfalls

Athirapally falls is widely regarded as the most spectacular of all Kerala waterfalls. It is certainly one of the finest waterfalls in the whole of Indian subcontinent. Athirapally falls (also Athirapalli, Athirappally) is located about 33 kilometres east of Chalakkudi in Thrissur District. The journey to Athirapally falls takes one to the footsteps of Sholayar mountain ranges which hold bio diverse evergreen forest. Mountain stream originating here flows down to the west. After gathering more water it flows with great fury along the slopes and valleys before thundering down at Athirappally. Waterfall thus created looks spectacular in the scenic background of green hills and huge rocks. Falling magnificently from 80 feet, silvery water splashes down forming a thunderous uproar which can be heard at a distance. Since 80’s this has been a hit location for Movies. 

Charpa Waterfalls

Charpa falls lies east of athirappilly and is between Athirapally falls and Vazhachal falls, it is seasonal, as summer starts to appear, it starts to disappear . it is a monsoon falls. Charpa falls is wonderful with a deafening roar at right on the road. It is a sight to watch and enjoy though it is least known. Be ready to get drenched if you are visiting it in the rainy season

Thumboormuzhy Dam, View point ,Riverside garden, Natural bath

The most beautiful garden with a Cildrens park, Riverside garden with facility of natural river bath. It is an eco fragle area with a lot of activities. It has basically a check dam,This part of the river is most suitable for bath . It has a beautiful mountain view of eye catching. Kerala's no-1 Butterfly garden is in Thumboormuzhy, it is a photo point for honeymooners, serials etc

Trekking In the Rain Forest

The most natural way of exploring the majestic beauty of Sholyar ranges of Western ghats is trekking. Trekking infuses a feeling of closeness and friendship that exists with nature. Trekking through the rain forests is a wonderful experience desires As we have limited time , you can trek through the road in the forest for 2 or 3 Kms to get that wonderful experience Normally from Charpa falls to Vazhachal falls is preferable.

Vazhachal Water Falls

Just five kilometres away from the entrance of Athirapilly waterfalls comes the Vazhachal waterfalls. It comes under the edge of Sholayar forest range. Starting quietly from the high ranges these waters later crashing through the canyons, which would imprint in our mind the exact meaning of the word ‘picturesque’. These scintillating waterfalls are a part of Chalakudy river. The related dense green forests are home to many endangered species. It provides restful escape for those who take an off from the rushful pace of life.

Sholayar Reserve Forest & Dam

Sholayar Dam view-Valparai- This is the Second Highest and longest Dam in Asia. the second deepest dam of Asia. Situated at a distance of 20 Kms., from Valparai. An active tourist spot found always busy. Sholayar dam is one of the oldest dam and is a vital water storage facility. It's very well maintained and offers nice view for tourists. Worth a visit.

Valparai Tea Estates & Wild Life

Valparai is a mid-elevation hill station. The tea plantations are surrounded by evergreen forest. The region is also a rich elephant tract and is known to have many leopards. It is located 3,500 feet (1,100 m) above sea level on theAnaimalai Hills range of the Western Ghats, at a distance of 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Coimbatore and 65 kilometres (40 mi) from Pollachi. There are 40 hairpin bends on the way up to Valparai from Azhiyar. Entering the forest and tea gardens of valparai you can enjoy the presence of many streams, dams, valleys, waterfalls, high mountains, grass lands, flora and fauna.Valparai is different from other tourist spots unlike ooty, munnar, kodaikanal etc because of some if its unique nature. Ecotourism is given more importance than regular form of tourism.
